PTTEP Robot Club

Back in 2013, a small group of PTTEP staff members began to take an interest in the significant roles that AI and robotics were expected to play in their business operations as well as in their daily lives. As a result, the PTTEP Robot Club was formally established with two primary objectives in mind.

The first objective was to assist PTTEP's petroleum exploration and production activities by enhancing safety, efficiency, and reducing operating expenses. The second objective was to broaden their expertise in the field of robotics and address the growing demand for knowledge in this age of digital transformation. 

AI & Robotics Ventures

Over the years, the PTTEP Robot Club has demonstrated its worth by continuously developing innovative technologies and solutions. Consequently, in September 2018, the Al & Robotics Ventures (ARV) Company Limited was established. This illustrious company is committed to advancing the field of robotics and AI by focusing on research and development and promoting innovation within PTTEP’s operations. By leveraging its expertise and understanding of robotics, ARV seeks to assist PTTEP in overcoming the various challenges posed by the rapidly changing technological landscape.

Today-2023

Two startups (VARUNA & CARIVA) have successfully secured external funding

In 2024, ARV is projected to achieve an impressive 60% revenue growth, highlighting our steadfast commitment to innovation and excellence. We are diligently seeking strategic investors to further expedite our growth trajectory. Notably, two of ARV’s startups (VARUNA & CARIVA) have successfully secured external funding, significantly enhancing our market presence and capabilities.

ARV has successfully established 2 new subsidiary companies.

Bedrock, the Geospatial Location Intelligence and AI Technology to provide advanced location insights and Bind Systems, Web 3.0 technology providing security, privacy, and seamless access to Digital Identity and Personal / Enterprise data.

Incorporated the first 4 startups

ARV has successfully spin-off start-ups into separate legal entities focused on further commercialization and development of their respective deep-tech domains.

NAUTILUS

a subsea flow line control and repair robot (SFCR) developed by Al and Robotics Ventures Company Limited (ARV) and Kongsberg Ferrotech won the Award for Breakthrough Technological Project of the Year at the ADIPEC Awards 2020

A YEAR TO REMEMBER PTTEP

had involved in search and rescue operation for "Wild Boar" team lost in the cave at Chiang Rai province. The first sea trial of new pipeline inspection AUV was conducted with satisfaction. Al & Robotics Ventures (ARV) Company Limited was established in Sep 2018.

SUCCESSFUL FIELD-TRIAL OF IN-PIPE INSPECTION ROBOT

The first field trial of in-pipe inspection robot was commenced at PTT Oil BU, Bangkok. The result of testing was satisfied.

DEVELOPING AN UPGRADED VERSION OF ZEABUS AUV, NAMED "ZEABUS II" PTTEP

collaborated with Kasetsart University developing an upgraded version of Zeabus AUV, named "Zeabus Il', achieved 5h place of AUVSI International Robosub 2016

SUCCESSFUL FIRST FIELD TRIAL OF LIVE FLARE INSPECTION BY UAV,U-THONG, PTTEP1

The first in-house inspection UAV developed under PTTEP Robot Club was successful in the first field trial of live flare inspection at U-Thong oil field, PTTEP1, Suphanburi.

SUCCESSFUL FIRST LAB-SCALE PROTOTYPE AUTONOMOUS UNDERWATER VEHICLE (AUV), NAME "OBSIDIAN"

PTTEP collaborated with Kasetsart University developing the first model of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV), named "Obsidian", achieved 18th place of International Robosub 2014

ESTABLISHMENT OF PTTEP ROBOT CLUB

PTTEP robotic club was established to develop robot to provide an alternative method enhancing PTTEP operation.
